THE PERSON:


As a System Power Engineer Lead in our Client Systems Power and Performance Engineering team, you will ensure our solutions deliver the Best Possible Product.

Your power optimization and measurement expertise will drive the enablement of opportunity and the timely resolution of issues, your ability to work across the org will ensure full engagement with design & other teams, and your program management skills will help provide a tactical execution structure.

This role is not for the overly introverted but instead for the ambitious engineer who appreciates having a high-visibility role and making an impact.

Each week brings new challenges and opportunities; your ability to tackle problems and work with others to drill into these problems matters to the whole organization as well as to the industry.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Drive next gen system level power optimization, including understanding power management features, enable/develop new power measurement and optimization methodologies, and automation integration

  • Support existing power ecosystem with hands-on characterization and debug to root cause power (and at times performance) challenges; collaborate with peer teams to analyze behaviors and resolve issues, evaluate ways to improve the power measurement and optimization methodologies.

  • Engage with cross-functional leadership & teams to integrate your deliverables with other project work streams

  • Implement power measurement strategies & methodologies for product-specific power scenarios, features; identify risks & build mitigation plans

  • Support cross-functional technical teams with targeted ad hoc analyses through hands-on testing

  • Develop strong partnerships with program stakeholders across the organization and development partners

  • Collaborate with other engineers on common program test & debug activities and process improvements


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Strong background with system power measurement methodologies and data acquisition equipment

  • Direct technical experience on system power optimization and micro-architectural power management

  • Direct experience with automation infrastructure and capabilities

  • System integration experience, including SW components, board design knowledge, power delivery experience, lab equipment connectivity, power measurement methodologies, component selection for best power

  • Experience in the PC architecture space and familiarity with hands-on system setup & testing


PREFERRED ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:



  • SoC architectural characterization, analysis, & debug

  • Power delivery and voltage regulator efficiency design experience is a plus

  • Product development with hardware platforms and their software & firmware ecosystems

  • Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, and technical management skills

  • Proven ability to deliver large cross-functional technical analyses

  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data to extract relevant test data and results

  • Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment


EDUCATION


  • Bachelors (Masters Preferred) degree in Computer Science or Computer or Electrical Engineering preferred with 8-10+ years industry experience
