Overview
The System Technician provides installation, repair and maintenance support for all telecommunication systems.
This position must be able to work with customers and project managers to build and prepare systems for field deployments, work with Service Desk on Incident Management Tickets and perform system maintenance routines.
The System Technician must be well versed in telecommunications systems such as IP PBX Equipment, off the shelf server platforms, Operating Systems and systems software administration.
Identify areas of improvement and work with services team to document and update processes.

Responsibilities
Performs installation, changes and maintenance of Avaya IP PBX/VoIP and associated equipmentEnsures quality installation of equipment to manufacture standardsPerforms software and firmware updates to system processors, system circuit packs, IP stations, and associated equipmentKeeps detailed records and documentation related to system installation informationPerforms maintenance analysis and troubleshooting on Avaya equipment and associated peripheral equipmentKeeps detailed records of maintenance tickets, trouble resolution and documentation related to maintenance activityProvides cutover support and assistance whenever called uponProvides Tier 2 support for Incident Management ticket resolution process Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Participates in Emergency On-call scheduleMonitors and responds to system alert and notifications from UC Management PlatformCreates and updates system performance and capacity planning reports Qualifications
Five or more years’ experience in the installation and maintenance of Telecommunications SystemsOne or more years of Avaya PBX system administration experienceAbility to work with little or no supervisionSkills should be sufficient to be a “Lead Technician”Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem solving, decision making skills and interpersonal relationship skillsProficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Excel Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering or Business related fieldAvaya Certifications (ACA or ACS)CCENT and/or strong understanding of LAN/WAN - Route/Switch technologies and protocols that support VoIPMCSA and/or equivalent experience with Microsoft Server supporting application delivery Additional Information
