Job description

General Dynamics Information Technology has an immediate opening for a Systems Administrator.

The candidate is a systems administrator with a strong aptitude to troubleshoot Tier 1 technical problems in real-time both independently and within a team environment.

The selected candidate will work a shift to support 24/7 operations alongside various teams and perform technical activities that impact the health, maintenance, and running of systems, software, and applications, including our FMV exploitation capabilities: the Multi-INT Analysis and Archiving System (MAAS).

This position requires 2nd Shift work - 2:00pm - 10:00pm.

This shift has differential pay, as applicable.

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: 

  • Work with collaborative teams to support technical activities that impact mission critical systems, software, and applications

  • Drive innovation to modernize technology and improve operations

  • Drive resolutions for system interdependencies/issues

  • Identify, recommend, and problem solve system issues to ensure systems, software, and applications are properly configured and running to meet customer needs

  • Support team members, end users, and other engineer teams with a focus on communicating effectively across all stakeholders in a 24/7 operational environment

  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure services are consistent with/superior to industry best practices

  • WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • The position requires an active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph clearance 

  • This position is for 2nd Shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm

  • The position requires three years of related experience

  • Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, OR equivalent three years job-related experience

  • MS Windows 10, Server , Server , SQL Server / /

  • Vshpere 6+, HP DL+, HP MSA

  • Visual Studio, Eclipse, Powershell 6+, SQL Script, PHP

  • JBoss EAP 7.1, Active Directory, IIS 7+

  • MS Office Suite , Symantec Anti-Virus, Veritas Back-up Exec, Mediawiki

  • Jira ticketing system

  • Basic windows script knowledge and ability to understand a batch file.

    This includes following the path of the configuration in the batch file; creating your own batch files to perform desired tasks; and troubleshooting batch files to see where they may be broken.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, a self-starter who does not need training in system administration/Tier 1 support fundamentals, and flexible enough to work on a variety of different tasks and technologies.

  • Experience with MAAS, Video processing and distribution experience, and SOP creation and maintenance is highly desirable.
