Systems Development Engineer I, AWS ADC Storage Services Job Opening In Herndon – Now Hiring Amazon

The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC), AWS for Government, Storage Services team is hiring a cleared Systems Development Engineer to join the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.

In this role, you will join a team of highly talented engineers operating Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), Amazon FSx, and Amazon S3 on Outposts, services that host some of our customers’ most sensitive data.

This is a great opportunity to have direct impact to some of the largest-scaled systems in the world and work with some of the smartest people in the industry, while having a huge impact.

A successful Systems Development Engineer should be focused on troubleshooting complex system operations, not just on a server level but enterprise wide.

Additionally, you will take part and be responsible for developing and building exciting new features for these services - further enabling our customers’ mission.

You should also have a solid foundation in multiple operating systems, networking and general knowledge of cloud services.

You will work with Amazon's largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services.

You will dive deep into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.

The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Basic Qualifications
- Associate's degree or above, or CND (Certified Network Defender) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience tools for automation (building, testing, releasing or monitoring)
- Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
- Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $89,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
