The Device OS organization owns the Fire OS and Amazon Common Software solutions that run on Amazon Devices such as the Fire Tablets, Fire TV, and Amazon Echo.
This team is responsible for the Developer Tools and Services that enable developers across the company to track, develop, review, build, and test high quality software for these platforms.
As a Systems Development Engineer for this team, you will:
- Influence strategy and roadmap through your technical and non-technical insights
- Dive into an ambiguous problem spaces and meticulously distill out design choices, trade-offs, and priorities
- Instrument, monitor, and drive improvements through metrics on the success of your tools and services
- Actively experiment and prototype with novel technologies that improve the customer experience or solve business needs
- Participate in designing, prototyping, building, and maintaining reliable and high-performance tools and services
- Analyze and improve availability, efficiency, capacity, scalability, security, performance and user experience of our services.
- Mentor team members in career growth
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
