The Systems Engineer - Network at American Operations Corporation is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network solutions that support both enterprise and operational needs.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, hands-on experience, and strong analytical skills to ensure reliable and secure network performance across a variety of environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design: Develop network architecture and designs that ensure scalability, availability, and security.
Create and maintain detailed network diagrams and documentation. - Implementation: Deploy and configure networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices to establish robust network connectivity.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick restoration of service.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize network monitoring tools to continuously assess network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
- Security: Implement security measures to protect the network infrastructure against unauthorized access and other cyber threats.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including security, systems, applications, and operational staff, to ensure integrated network solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Project Management: Lead network-related projects, ensuring they meet both budgetary and timeline constraints.
- Training: Provide training and support to junior engineers and staff regarding network operation and best practices.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors for procurement, support, and maintenance of network equipment and services.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of professional experience in relation to design and implementation in local area LAN/ WAN corporate environments using Cisco, Juniper, TCP/IP and VoIP technologies with routers, switches, fiber optics, firewalls and cable plant designs.
- This position is required to be designated as IAT II level with a T5.
