**Description:** **What We're Doing**
Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks.
The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
**Who You Are**
The idea candidate should have a general understanding of the Systems Engineering 'V' and be capable of performing engineering analysis, requirements allocation, and requirements decomposition with supervision from a senior engineer.
They must also have a background in hardware including experience with hardware to software interfaces and experience diagnosing hardware faults (fault detection and fault isolation).
They should be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
**The Work**
This role is for a Systems Engineer, Staff to support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program.
In this role the candidate will perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, hardware fault analysis, and hardware to software interface definition, and testing as part of the IDT product team.
The GWS system provides missile defense capabilities that protect and defends the United States of America.
This team follows an Agile framework using Jira and Confluence to manage their backlog and document progress.
This is not a telework/remote position.
Additional work the role may perform includes:
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

**Basic Qualifications:**
• BS Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 8 years of experience; or 6 years of experience with Masters degree
• Prior experience developing Test Plans and Test Procedures for DoD programs
• Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs
• Prior experience working using DOORS
• Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo
• Active Secret Security clearance
**Desired Skills:**
• Prior experience using Atlassian Tools
• Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices
• Prior experience as a Product Owner
• Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis
• Familiar with Software Containerization and Orchestration
• Familiar with DevSecOps
• Prior experience working with MIL-STD-810 and performing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
• Prior experience working with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA)
• Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) per MIL-STD-461 and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) per MIL-STD-464
• Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with High-Altitude electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) per MIL-STD-188-125-1 and MIL-STD-188-125-2
• Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) per MIL-HDBK-344

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
**Schedule for this Position:** 9x80 every other Friday off
