As a Systems Engineer specializing in Windows environments at American Operations Corporation, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows Server systems and related technologies.
Your role will focus on ensuring operational excellence, performance, and security of the Windows infrastructure.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Design and Architecture: Create and maintain system architectures for Windows environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and optimize Windows Server operating systems and relevant applications.
- Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain system integrity.
- Patch Management: Implement and manage patch and update procedures for Windows systems to ensure compliance and minimize vulnerabilities.
- Active Directory Management: Administer Active Directory (AD) including user account management, group policies, and organizational units (OUs).
- Security Excellence: Implement security best practices for Windows environments, including access control, security policies, and incident response procedures.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Windows systems, performing regular testing to ensure data integrity and quick recovery capabilities.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation relating to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaboration: Work with network engineers, application developers, and other IT staff to support a wide range of projects and provide project input.
- End-user Support: Provide support and training to end-users for Windows-based applications and systems.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of professional experience in relation to operating systems design and implementation for DoD programs with networked corporate environments using Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, VMWare, storage systems (e.g. NetApp, EMC), and TCP/IP.
- This position is required to be designated as IAT II level with a T5
