Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The William States Lee College of Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for two full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track faculty positions (positions #4548 and #1768) at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Professor of Practice, or Lecturer, with an anticipated start date of August 2026.
We seek outstanding teaching professionals with expertise in engineering, construction, and their integration, particularly in the areas of:
+ Capital project lifecycle management (from planning and design through construction and operations)
+ Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management ( EPCM )
+ Industry best practices and integrated project delivery systems
+ Digital transformation in construction, including Building Information Modeling ( BIM ), data acquisition, analytics, and AI.
Candidates with broad and diverse industry experience across multiple sectors are strongly encouraged to apply.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Minimum qualifications for appointment at the Teaching Assistant Professor or Teaching Associate Professor ranks include a terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a closely related discipline.
Minimum qualifications for appointment at the Professor of Practice or Lecturer ranks include a Master’s degree in one of the above fields (or closely related discipline) combined with substantial industry experience.
A minimum of five years of practical, relevant industry experience, particularly in capital projects, is desired.
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching, preferably at the university level.
Ten or more years of diverse professional experience spanning industrial, commercial, and/or heavy civil sectors.
