Summary of Job Duties:

This is a 9-month, full-time non-tenure track position with the possibility of summer teaching for summer pay (i.e., extra pay).

The Teaching Assistant Professor in Exercise Sciences will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Exercise Science; serve on theses, dissertations, and honors projects committees; mentor/advise both undergraduate and graduate students; and provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.



Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Exercise Science or related field conferred by start of employment from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Evidence of highly effective teaching

  • Evidence or potential of service to the department, institution, and profession

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and administering exercise programs

  • Experience teaching exercise prescription, exercise programming for special populations, and/or exercise risk management at the university level

  • Evidence of effective student mentoring/advising

  • Experience or interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning
