Job description

The School of Nursing at Pepperdine University seeks qualified candidates for teaching faculty appointments at the rank of teaching assistant professor, teaching associate professor, teaching professor, or instructor for its developing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Entry Level Master's Degree in Nursing (ELM) programs.

Successful candidates should have an earned master's or doctoral degree and commitment to student success.

Preferred qualifications include successful experience teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

As a new program, we seek faculty in a wide-range of specialty areas.

The BSN and ELM programs plan to enroll their first cohort of students in Fall 2025 (pending WSCUC and BRN approval).

Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.

The regular full-time employment start date is August 1, 2025.

Pending availability and need, select faculty may be provided the opportunity to begin in June or July, 2025 to ensure program readiness.

Both degree programs will be offered on Pepperdine's Malibu and Calabasas campuses and all faculty appointments are in-person.


The BSN and ELM programs at Pepperdine University are pending approval by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College & University Commission (WSCUC)


All full-time faculty teaching in the nursing program must meet the required qualifications noted in the California Code of Regulations, Title 16, Division 14, Article 3, to be hired.

This is a Full-Time, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.


Expected Pay Range: $90,000 - $160,000 per year


The salary for a full-time 12-month professorial appointment for applicants with a doctoral degree will range from $90,000 to $160,000.

Candidates with a master's degree will be appointed as an instructor and can expect a salary ranging from $80,000 to $145,000 for a full-time 12-month appointment.

Salaries will be prorated for individuals seeking a 9-month appointment.
