Position Summary:
Assist in care of hospital patients under the direction of nursing and the medical staff.
Position is responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care, and for promoting teamwork among co-workers.
Job Duties/Responsibiities:
Observe telemetry monitors, respond to alarms and/or disconnects, document changes in patient rhythms and notification of nurse (full name) caring for patient.
Ensures that patients are monitored at all times by trained staff when having to leave the telemetry area (i.e., breaks, meals, etc.)
Assist physicians in locating Dysrhythmia records.
Assist with orientation of new personnel on basic dysrhythmia interpretation.
Demonstrates competence in recognition and handling of life threatening and non life- threatening rhythms based on sight interpretation and EKG measurements.
