Technical Editor
Job Description
As a Technical Editor, you will draft, incorporate, edit, review, and publish approved Satellite Control Network (SCN) Technical Order (TO) changes.
You will support operations and maintenance personnel performing the SCN mission.
Within a DoD contract and military standard (MIL-STD) guidelines, you will communicate and coordinate with project managers, configuration and data managers, engineers, logisticians, drafters, and Government customers to efficiently develop and maintain technical documentation and contractual deliverables.
This role is ideal for someone adaptable to a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, capable of balancing and organizing projects spanning several development stages.
Responsibilities
+ Draft, incorporate, edit, review, and publish approved SCN Technical Order changes.
+ Communicate and coordinate with project managers, configuration and data managers, engineers, logisticians, drafters, and Government customers.
+ Develop and maintain technical documentation and contractual deliverables.
+ Adapt to a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
+ Organize projects that span several stages of development.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing or technical field, or equivalent on-the-job documentation experience.
+ 0-3 years of technical or procedural writing experience.
+ Experience with PDF edits.
+ Willingness to learn and initiative to expand technical and soft skills.
+ Ability to problem-solve and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
+ Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Air Force Technical Orders.
+ Familiarity with the Satellite Control Network (SCN).
+ Familiarity with engineering drawings.
+ Working knowledge of TM-86-01 and TO-00-5-1.
+ Experience with Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and Arbortext editor.
Work Environment
The work environment offers a hybrid schedule with three days a week in the office and two days working from home.
This role is a six-month contract position.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr.
