ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services (FAA NAS ESS) contract.
Join our growing team as a Technical Editor in support of the NAS Engineering Support & Tools Team.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for analyzing, managing, supervising, or performing work necessary to plan, design, develop, acquire, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, or modify systems for solving problems or accomplishing work processes by using computers. Primary need is knowledge of information processing methodology/technology, computer capabilities, and processing techniques. Typical computer specialist assignments may include but are not limited to: computer programming; collecting, recording, and analyzing data/information; identifying problems; and performing computer software investigation and inspection activities. Performs a mixture of basic and routine (but progressively more difficult) assignments under the close direction of a Technical Manager or more experienced technical specialist. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team. Applies basic technical knowledge to accomplish assignments. Coordinates with a Technical Manager or more experienced technical specialist to plan time and use assigned resources to accomplish assignments. Works with other employees, both contract and federal, to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and discuss the status of assignments. Works under detailed instructions provided by a Technical Manager or more experienced technical specialist. Regularly refers problems and work issues to a Technical Manager or more experienced technical specialist when existing guidelines are not available or applicable. Work may affect the safety and security of customers.
Requirements
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years .
Proficiency in programming skills using software applications and tools is required. Must have excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Required knowledge of and/or experience with: ADOBE Framemaker Highly desired knowledge of and/or experience with: Object Oriented Programming PrinciplesJava Development: (C++ or C# would be considered as an acceptable substitute) / ORM / MVCWeb Development: Java Script / CSS / HTML / JQuery / Common JavaScript LibrariesRelational Database: SQL / Data Model Ability to pass an FAA background investigation. Education/Experience:
Associate of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming, or similar science/technology is required.
–OR- A Certificate of Training in a two-year Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming or similar curriculum from a community college, vocational education school, or military training may be substituted in lieu of the associate of science degree, depending on other qualifications or experience.
-OR- A minimum of 4 years of experience in this specific technical area that is pertinent to the support of the National Airspace System (NAS). Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is highly desirable.
