Position summary:
The Product Management Director reports to the Senior Director of Product Management and is responsible for the day-to-day technical product management of emergency products and services.
Responsibilities include understanding the emergency services industry, standards, protocols, defining new features, writing requirements, and presenting to internal managers and customers.
The position requires as much as 25% travel.
Responsibilities:
Present the architecture and technical approach of our solutions and future directions to internal and external customers Clarify and document requirements for Software Engineering by analyzing existing internal and external needs as well as market directions in coordination with the Product Line Manager(s)Maintain the product roadmap and schedule of releases to ensure all customers’ needs are met in a timely manner Lead efforts to provide technical recommendations for build/buy decisions in partnership with the Product Line ManagersLead the overall solution design decisions driving for implementation and operational consistency, leveragability, and reuse.Lead the user experience (UX) requirements with UX designersWork with other TPMs and Solutions Architects to optimize the performance and scalability of solutions and identify opportunities to leverage solutions across the organization.Bring solutions and/or services to market on established schedulesAdhere to the standards of professionalism and integrity.
Requirements:
Ability to identify and deliver quality product.10+ years relevant experienceSpeak and write well In-depth understanding of the NENA i3 standardsUnderstand evolving wireless carrier, VoIP service provider, and emergency services industryHave sufficient technical knowledge to communicate with engineeringAble to contribute as an individual and a team player2-3 years of Product Management, Sales Engineering, or similar experienceUnderstanding of the i3 ECRF/LVF/i3 policy Have foundational knowledge of software development practicesWireless telephony standards, VoIP, location services, and emergency services Strong vision for the possibilities that telecommunications has on daily lifeMS OfficeAtlassian tools experience.Qualifications:
BA or BS, preferably in a technical disciplineMBA or equivalent experienceComtech Telecommunications Corp.
