The Technical Program Manager will engage with supplier engineers and the Apple cross-functional team to develop and deliver core technologies that create new experiences for our customers.
You will act as a link between Apple Design and supplier manufacturing processes, focusing on the details that produce brilliant products through high-volume manufacturing.
Furthermore, it will be your responsibility to ensure that all technical risks associated with a product are identified and closed or mitigated to enable a successful ramp.
**Description**
Lead and facilitate design updates for manufacturability, process flow development, equipment setup, and qualification to support prototype builds leading to mass production.
Work with international suppliers to develop fixtures that ensure correct assembly and evaluate product performance using statistical data analysis.
Lead process, equipment and/or design trials to optimize the overall process for high-volume mass production
Partner closely with Engineering and Operations teams to identify, prioritize, and manage key technical risks in order to enable successful project execution.
Drive execution efforts with international supply chain via meetings, documentation, and on-site support.
Act as technical lead in resolving complex issues, reporting on status to engineering and operations leadership teams to influence decisions and manage risk with data.
Facilitate production process documentation and validation to enable ramp-up and mass production.
Innovate factory processes, concepts, and design to enable an ideal manufacturing process, including smart manufacturing and green manufacturing efforts.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial preferred), or graduate degree in supply chain and/or operations.
+ Minimum 7 years hands-on experience with design and/or manufacturing process development
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Familiarity with factory operations, 5S, operator training, safety, and security.
+ Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas:
+ Metal forming
+ Molding
+ Precision pick and place
+ Glue dispensing
+ Laser welding
+ Coil Winding
+ Heat pressing
+ Soldering
+ Additive Manufacturing
+ Machine Learning
+ Fixture fabrication
+ Experience with compiling data and making recommendations for product designs and assembly drawings.
This will include the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis using Six Sigma principles.
+ Experience using process control methodologies, PFMEA, and in-depth failure analysis methods
+ Experience simulating line throughput and bottleneck resolution for high volume mass production
+ Demonstrated program management capabilities: schedule management, written and verbal communication, risk management, and escalation.
+ Proven track record of leading a multi-functional team in order to achieve new product objectives inclusive of quality, yield, and cost
+ Proven track record of solving complex problems in a timely fashion
+ Experience working with international OEM partners
+ Self-starter with innovation, integrity, and attention to details
+ Work/Travel Expectation:
+ 20-30% travel
+ Daily night calls may be necessary to ensure program development milestones and schedule are met
**Pay & Benefits**
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
The base pay range for this role is between $157,200 and $236,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
