Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch thousands of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world, including USA and international governments.
This position will lead the deployment and sustainment of gateways in support of government customers using Kuiper.

Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing the program team, establishing program cost, technical and schedule baselines, and tracking progress towards that baseline.
You will identify project critical schedule paths, establish and implement plans to avoid and recover from challenges, and ensure your programs meet customer cost, technical and schedule goals.
You will work with KGS product, engineering, contracts, finance, supply chain, and business development employees to support your programs.
You will work closely with the Kuiper commercial to organize resources, schedule milestones, and track achievements.
You will work in a collaborative, analytical, fast-paced environment and must be comfortable interacting with highly technical cross-functional teams.
The candidate must have strong business judgment, dive deep into data, have strong writing skills, and be comfortable leading executive-level reviews.
The best candidates will have deep understanding of satellite communications systems and components, systems engineering, and program management.
Candidates with experience executing programs to develop, field, maintain, and support SATCOM ground radio frequency antennas and components, and supporting networks will be preferred.
Security Clearance: This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active (within the past 2 years) TS/SCI security clearance.
A day in the life
In this role you will:
- Propose and drive adoption of improvements to the Kuiper program for government users
- Lead and document trade studies for intra-team review for stakeholder buy-in
- Deliver programs that procure satellite antennas, components, and service; lead site preparation and construction activities; obtain site regulatory and local approvals; manage site installation, checkout, and commissioning; sustain sites; support product lines and fielded systems; and collect performance statistics and analyze for contract compliance and product improvements.
- Create program schedule, cost and technical baselines, define and track key program metrics, and manage execution of the program to meet those goals.
Manage suppliers, subcontractors and support staff on your programs.
Proactively manage the programs and devise plans to resolve breakdowns, remove roadblocks, avoid triggering threats, fulfill obligations and exploit opportunities.
Organize regular project and team meetings, focusing design teams and support staff to meeting program baselines.
Set agenda, communicate meeting notes and actions, follow up with responsible owners.
Provide monthly program status updates to management, stakeholders, and customers.
Fulfill program hardware, software, firmware, documentation, and service deliverables.
- Work with customers and the KGS team to foster strong relationships and high customer satisfaction to promote strong and growing revenue generation.
- Communicate clear and effective narratives to executive management on the plans, status, and critical issues.
Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
