Project Kuiper, Amazon's ambitious low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead critical initiatives that will help connect underserved communities worldwide.
In this role, you will drive complex, cross-functional programs that span hardware, software, and operations, ensuring the successful delivery of Kuiper's satellite and ground station infrastructure.
Export Control: This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.
Key job responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Lead large-scale, complex technical programs across multiple teams and disciplines, from inception to delivery
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive program plans aligned with Kuiper's mission and business objectives
- Cross-functional Coordination: Orchestrate efforts across engineering, operations, product, and business teams to ensure seamless program execution
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could impact program success, developing contingency plans as needed
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with senior leadership, external partners, and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear communication and alignment
- Technical Expertise: Leverage deep technical understanding to facilitate decision-making and problem-solving across teams
- Process Improvement: Implement and optimize program management methodologies to increase efficiency and scalability
- Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain program KPIs, providing regular updates to leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes
A day in the life
As a Technical Program Manager on the Kuiper Devices & Systems team, you'll drive critical device management and security initiatives across the organization.
Your day involves leading and being a part of cross-functional stand-ups to align fleet management, and security compliance priorities, while collaborating with engineering leads to address technical challenges.
You'll analyze fleet health metrics and compliance data to guide program decisions, present status updates to leadership, and coordinate with external partners like Microsoft.
The role requires balancing immediate operational demands with long-term strategic planning, all within a regulated environment.
About the team
You will lead the Kuiper Devices & Systems (KDS) team, responsible for managing the security, compliance, and operational efficiency of Kuiper's device fleet.
Your team will play a crucial role in scaling our operations and supporting Kuiper's mission to deliver reliable internet globally through innovative device management solutions and automation.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
