Technical Program Manager (Spectrum), AWS Aerospace Solutions Job Opening In Herndon – Now Hiring Amazon

This is the right role for someone with the drive to take ownership of complex tasks and projects, predict and effectively react to dynamic challenges in a fast-paced, high intensity environment, and independently prioritize their activity to deliver the results that our globally expanding business needs.

AWS Aerospace Edge Services is seeking a talented, innovative, and solutions-oriented Technical Program Manager (Spectrum Manger) to manage and transform how customers are able to leverage AWS services to build their businesses.

This role will apply deep domain knowledge of spectrum and regulatory regimes, both in the US and internationally, to deliver global satellite systems and networks that can reliably support an international set of space customers.

This role will also interface with AWS Infrastructure to develop and execute our strategy for identifying, planning, and building new AWS Ground Station locations.

This Technical Program Manager has successfully completed complex, multi-discipline projects that included risk assessments, legal, and public policy aspects.

This position requires that the candidate selected must be a US Citizen.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the global spectrum strategy and execution for service expansion and customer adoption
- Plan and coordinate the international spectrum licensing mechanisms for the AWS GS team
- Design, build, and own reports on key metrics that provide leadership with insights into spectrum licensing activities
- Articulate a plan with expected deliverables, timelines, and a formal tracking process to meet service readiness objectives
- Work with AWS Legal and public policy to determine appropriate country-by-country actions to receive approval to operate with our customers
- Develop a strategy to engage specific countries to shape regulatory environments for favorable outcomes
- Own the global infrastructure strategy and execution for service expansion
- Coordinate new infrastructure efforts for Aerospace Edge Solutions.
- Write and deliver regular cadence executive-level presentation against objectives
- Perform business analysis on spectrum and infrastructure (products/services, processes, systems and new regions)
- Articulate in writing a plan with deliverables, timelines and a formal tracking process to meet program objectives

About the team
AWS Ground Station is a fully managed global Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) that allows our customers to easily and cost-effectively control satellites, ingest and process satellite data, and innovate with other AWS Services.

It provides satellite customers with ground station services with no ground station infrastructure commitments, usage-based per-minute pricing, self-service scheduling, and a global network of ground stations in close proximity to AWS Regions so customers can access AWS services, infrastructure and global network within milliseconds of downlinking data from their satellite.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Hands on knowledge of satellite and ground system communication systems and architecture.
- Hands on experience of construction management
- Proven experience in managing large scale projects.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The Colorado base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year up to $172,000/year.

The National base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
