SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a Technical Subcontracts Manager to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software.

This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for National defense.

You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence.


The Technical Subcontracts Manager (TSM) will be responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of multiple, high-value subcontracts for a mission data processing infrastructure program.

The TSM will act as the primary technical point of contact between internal engineering teams and key suppliers responsible for the development and delivery of platform hardware, software, and systems integration services.

A strong background in systems engineering and defense contracting is required.


Responsibilities


  • Subcontract Oversight: Lead and manage the overall technical and schedule performance of subcontractors through program lifecycle.
  • Engineering and Technical Management: Act as the technical interface with subcontractors, ensuring that all procured items meet program requirements and specifications.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare regular project status reports and present findings to senior management and other stakeholders, clearly translating complex data into understandable language.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement new technologies, and drive innovation within data processing operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, including government representatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; Master’s or PhD preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Proven track record of leading complex systems engineering projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in platform infrastructure and data processing systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
  • Secret Security clearance
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred


  • Domain experience with remote sensor systems or ground architectures, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense and aerospace fields
  • Experience with Agile software development methods.
  • Familiarity with the Earned Value Management System.
  • Active TS/SCI Security clearance

The pay range for this position is $148,000 - $168,000 / year.

SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
