Job description

What We're Looking For

Responsible for working with various internal functional groups at HNTB to review procedures, contractual documents, and management plans; properly identify, vet, and advance potential changes; manage review and publication process, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

We are looking for a person to grow into this role.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Works with technical staff to format and edit content for procedures, contractual documents, and management plans.
  • Edits and formats content written by others, ensuring consistency in writing style and approach throughout various documents.
  • Performs quality reviews to ensure consistency within document collections and adherence to style guide and other requirements.
  • Collaborates with technical staff to draft and update documents on schedule.
  • Gathers information through research, and coordination with technical staff.
  • Manages document publication process and version control.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Editorial reviews of technical provisions, procedures, and management plans
  • Coordinates with technical authors and procurement delivery managers to edit, format, and publish procurement documents
  • Coordinates with functional groups to create, update, review, and publish procedural documents

What You’ll Do:

  • Works with Division Marketing and technical staff to write, format and edit content for qualifications, proposals and reports.
  • Edits and formats content written by others, ensuring consistency in writing style and approach throughout various documents.
  • Gathers information through research, statistical reports, and interviews with technical staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical, Communications or related field and 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, Engineering, English, or a related field
  • Previous experience in journalism, technical writing, corporate communications, or contract administration
  • 2 years of experience with formatting, editing, and process management
  • Strong background in professional and technical writing, including experience with document version control and publication management
  • Familiarity with engineering or infrastructure-related documentation is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, synthesize, and present complex information clearly and accurately
