Job Summary
The incumbent supports user desktop infrastructure and application needs.
He/she performs activities involving desktop hardware, software and other peripheral devices.

Ability to acquire knowledge of applications run during the assigned shift Essential Job Functions Troubleshoots issues concerning all desktop work order requests to ensure the attainment of established unit goals
Develops and maintains desktop operations, priorities and equipment to maximize operational effectivenessMaintains inventory control records and directs acquisition and distribution of computer supplies to ensure availability of required materialsRecommends improved service routines and production techniquesOperates and controls computer equipment and auxiliary devicesEvaluates security requirements, rules and procedures, recommending security improvements as neededConfers and coordinates with operations sections institution-wide, individual users and vendors
Schedules mandatory maintenance on equipment to ensure equipment is in good working order and to minimize downtime
Other related duties, as assigned Qualifications Four (4) years of operating experience in multi-processing, multi-programming, and multi-systems computer operations.
Associate’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods
Occasional ability to lift, carry and put away items weighing up to 25 pounds
Normal physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account
Normal physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place
Normal physical strength to handle routine office materials and tools
