Technician I- Met Lab
Principal Purpose of Position:
Prepares samples for analysis/examination and carries out a limited range of basic metallurgical services under direct supervision of the Group Leader.
Perform mechanical and magnetic tests on standard equipment, such as hardness testing, tension, tensile, resistivity etc.
Perform metallographic tests using etchants, polishing equipment and standard metallographic equipment.
Collect and record test data obtained during the evaluation.
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
This position can be located in any of the following areas: Mechanical Testing, Preparation, Metallographic Testing, Magnetic Testing, or Heat Treating.

Elementary knowledge of metallurgical/laboratory equipment.

Solves routine problems by using standard procedures and/or processes.

Responds to standard requests from internal or external customers.
