The Department of Nutrition in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University (TAMU) in College Station, Texas continues to embark on an ambitious expansion to become a nationally recognized leader in nutrition sciences.
We currently invite applicants for one tenure-track, full-time faculty position with a 9-month academic appointment.
The anticipated start date for this opportunity is August 1, 2026.
Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Assistant Professor in the area of microbiome, nutritional immunology, nutrition and microbe interactions, use of germ free/gnotobiotic models for nutrition studies, food borne infections, or other related areas.
The current department has active research programs in obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer stem cell biology, cancer metabolism, maternal and adolescent and women's health nutrition, nutritional genetics, inflamm-aging and evidence-based practice and guidelines.
Preference will be given to candidates that can contribute to teaching an undergraduate nutritional microbiology course.
Candidates will be expected to: 1) develop and maintain competitive extramurally funded research programs; 2) teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in nutrition; 3) contribute to the academic service mission of the department and university.

Enrollment at TAMU is approximately 75,000 students, of which 15,000 are graduate and professional students.
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences includes 15 departments and over 400 faculty.
The University is located in College Station, which combined with the city of Bryan, forms a metropolitan community of approximately 275,000 people with high-quality amenities and a low cost of living.
In addition to excellent health, education, and recreational services, the community affords a rich variety of cultural activities typical of a major university environment, including sports, museums, music, art and theatre.
The College Station-Bryan area is also centrally located between Texas' major metro areas including Houston, Dallas-Ft Worth, Austin, and San Antonio.
Required qualifications:
Ph.D. in nutrition, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, genetics, or other related fields.
Experience with writing and obtaining research funding.
Preferred qualifications:
Preference will be given to individuals with postdoctoral experience, demonstrated expertise, and a desire to participate in multidisciplinary research programs spanning pre-clinical laboratory to applied human research.
