Tenure-track Faculty in Professional Communication Job Opening In Minot – Now Hiring Minot State University

Position Information

:

Minot State University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Professional Communication to begin Fall Semester 2025 or Spring Semester 2026.

This is considered an open-rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) position.

The successful candidate’s rank will be determined at the time of appointment based on previous experience and professional achievement.

Candidates will be expected to:
• Teach 12 credits of a variety of undergraduate courses each semester (fall and spring)
• Have expertise in areas that include social media, and may also include, but are not limited to: speech communication, e-sports, computer-mediated communication, communication technology, advertising, and other courses of a generalist in communication
• Maintain an active scholarly/research agenda
• Demonstrate a commitment to service within the university, department, community, and field.


• Within the department, the faculty member will mentor advisees and provide guidance on their academic pursuits, internships, capstone projects, and other endeavors.

The Professional Communication program at Minot State is housed in the newly renovated and modernized Hartnett Hall which includes state-of-the-art equipment, a pod-cast suite, computer lab, campus radio station, student newspaper, and the KMSU television studio.


The teaching load for this position is 12 credit hours per semester (fall and spring).

The candidate must be able to teach a variety of undergraduate courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a master’s degree in communication or a related field and have teaching experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a PhD in communication or a related field and have teaching experience in higher education.

Priority will be given to applicants with evidence of (1) an active program of research, (2) high quality teaching, (3) a strong foundation in Media Studies with relevant supporting areas.

Compensation:
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
