The Department of Geology and Geophysics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking applicants for a full-time 9-month position at the rank of either Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) in Experimental Rock Deformation.
The successful applicant will establish an active research program in the Department of Geology and Geophysics and the Center for Tectonophysics.
We seek applicants whose interests enhance and broaden our existing strengths in rock deformation, tectonics, and multidisciplinary studies of natural systems.
We are particularly interested in individuals who creatively combine experimental rock deformation with observational and theoretical approaches to explore the rheology of the lower crust and mantle.
The successful applicant will lead a vibrant, cutting-edge research program that leverages existing strengths of the Department of Geology & Geophysics, while expanding our reach into national and international-scale initiatives.
The successful candidate would be expected to take advantage of extensive facilities at the in the Center for Tectonophysics, and can use other instrumentation of the department and university (e.g., ; ).
The anticipated starting date is Fall 2026 semester.
A Ph.D in Geology, Geophysics, or related research discipline is required.
