Job description

DCS Corp is seeking to hire a Senior Test Engineer to lead verification, validation, and flight test strategy for Major Release 2 (FY25–27)—from lab checkout in the System Integration Lab (SIL) to operational deployment across multiple aircraft in Bedford, MA.

  • Shift hours/schedules:

  • Onsite (plant or customer location)

  • Typical shift hours: 7:30am-4:30pm or 8:00am-5pm
  • Key Responsibilities:


    Test Strategy & Planning

  • Author the program-level Test & Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) aligned with CJADC2 mission threads.

  • Define entrance/exit criteria, traceability matrices, and milestone metrics tied to the Integrated Master Schedule.
  • SIL Architecture & Automation

  • Design and manage SIL configurations replicating real-world aircraft interfaces.

  • Implement automated test suites (Python, Robot Framework, Jenkins, IXIA) for functional, performance, and cyber validation.
  • Flight & Ground Test Execution

  • Lead DT/OT events: write test cards, hazard analyses, and IATTs; ensure flight safety compliance.

  • Serve as flight-test or ground-test conductor; capture telemetry, debug anomalies in real time.
  • Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze performance metrics (latency, crypto timing, SWaP-C impact) and produce actionable after-action and deficiency reports.

  • Communicate test findings and readiness updates to IPTs and senior USAF leadership.
  • DevSecOps & Agile Testing

  • Embed test automation into the DevSecOps pipeline to support 90-day Smith software builds.

  • Promote “shift-left” testing through early design reviews and digital engineering validation.
  • Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor junior engineers and support Government test personnel.

  • Coordinate with NSA, DISA, and flight safety authorities for ATO, crypto, and airworthiness compliance.
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (M.S. a plus) and 15+ years of DoD system of systems test engineering, including lab to flight progression.

  • Proven leadership of large-scale DT/OT efforts for avionics, communications, or C2 systems.

  • Hands on with test automation frameworks, instrumentation, and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Pandas, JMP, or similar).

  • Familiarity with MIL STD 810/461, RCC 324/125 15, or comparable environmental and EMI/EMC standards.
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous work on ABMS, CJADC2, OMS/UCI, or tactical data link programs.

  • Experience with Type 1 crypto, cross domain solutions, and RMF/eMASS artifacts.

  • Flight test credentials (USAF TPS grad, FAA DER, or equivalent).

  • Agile/Scrum or SAFe certification; knowledge of Model Based Test (MBSE driven test cases).
