Sr Test Engineer
We are looking for a Sr Test Engineer to join our Shelby team!
As our Sr Test Engineer, you will, determine testing needs to verify customer requirements are met. You will create, execute and report on Test Plans and Procedures. You will design and build testing equipment and develop Statements of Work to define requirements for external sources to design and build test equipment for us. Our customers are mainly military and commercial aerospace OEM’s looking for mechanical and electro-mechanical actuation solutions for flight controls, door drive systems and other needs.
Location: Shelby, NC (Hybrid arrangement possible)
Salary: $99,000 to $143,000 + bonus opportunity

Your Challenge
- Design, develop, and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment.
- Create detailed Test Plans and Test Procedures to verify product requirements are met.
- Design or specify test fixtures and equipment.
- Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for new test equipment needs and support Supply Chain and Suppliers in the execution of the SOW.
- Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for external qualification testing services and support Supply Chain and Suppliers in the execution of the testing.
- Create and maintain test and diagnostic software.
- Create and align the detailed testing schedule within the Program Management schedule.
- Prepare qualification test reports and test failure and resolution reports to document results of testing activities.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers, Design Engineers, Test Technicians and Program Managers in the execution of the above.
- Support existing Production Testing equipment and procedures.
- Assists in building, installing, debugging and testing designed equipment to ensure production capabilities.
- Provides technical support for new business proposals.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 5-10 years of experience
- Must be a US Citizen
- Experience creating testing requirements, plans and procedures to verify customer requirements.
- Hands-on experience with specifying, building and qualifying test rigs.
- Experience utilizing and troubleshooting of sensors such as load cells, torque cells, resolvers, encoders.
- Experience working with external environmental and EMI testing services.
- Experience interfacing with customer technical and program management personnel.
- Ability to take testing requirements and external proposals and develop detailed testing schedules, in collaboration with supporting engineers and program management.
- Ability to take long-term Program schedule and goals and break them down to manageable tasks that define a Testing Plan and Schedule.
What you Bring Preferred
- Experience with testing of electromechanical devices.
- Experience with electronics and electrical harnesses.
- Experience with LabVIEW (FGPA preferred).
- Aerospace experience (commercial and/or military) preferred.
- Basic 3D modeling and design (we use Siemens NX)
