Job Title: Test Technician
1st shift - M-F 5:00 AM-3:30 PM
Years of Experience (Required): 1-2 years
3 "Must Haves”: Electro-mechanical assembly and knows how to read prints/work instructions, has used Thermal and vibration testing equipment, has a good foundation of how to use multi-meters and power supplies
3 "Nice to Haves”: Has experience troubleshooting PCBAs, Has a good foundation of how to read schematics, Self-starter
Preferred certifications: IPC-610 certification, J-STD certification
Job Designation:
The Test Technician completes work according to instructions, specifications, and procedures.
Conducts a variety of tests and verifications on electro and electromechanical equipment, while providing accuracy, productivity and on-time delivery.
Job Core Responsibilities:
• Performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical testing of small parts or components in accordance with company instructions and procedures
• Reviews shop traveler route card, or schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation
• Perform a variety of tests to verify circuitry and to test the effectiveness of components in amplifiers and electronic equipment.
• Receive parts or units from customers and troubleshoots circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints as a verifying check.
• Perform test and diagnostics using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVM, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, frequency counters and other related test equipment
• Sets up test equipment and tests per specification
• Performs troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the micro component level
• Provides detailed written failure description with root cause analysis to production and engineering
• Follows written and verbal instructions, adheres to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment, an acceptable safety record and follows company safety rules
• Other responsibilities as assigned
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications:
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience: 1-2 years or more of relevant experience
Skills:
• Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics.
• Strong knowledge in testing, debugging and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
• Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions
• Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures
• Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Proficient Microsoft Windows software applications
