Job Title: Library Director (Newark Campus) Department: Newark | General
The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College invite applications for a full-time, cost-shared Library Director.
This position oversees the development, currency, and maintenance of the library’s holdings, learning resources, and archives, serving both institutions and COTC's extended campuses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective administration of library services, including document circulation, collection management, reference materials, and periodicals.
The Library Director provides visionary leadership for strategic planning, implementation, and assessment of all library services, advancing academic and community engagement across both institutions.
This is a cost-shared position, representing the best interests of The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College.
Central Ohio Technical College’s mission is to meet the technical education and training needs of students and employers in the area, and the college aspires to be recognized as Ohio’s premier technical college focused on student success as well as for excellence in workforce development and technical education.
Because the position is OSU paid, employment is subject to all rules, regulations, and policies of The Ohio State University.
The position will be appointed as a Professional Practice Faculty member, with rank determined by previous professional experience.

The Ohio State University at Newark offered its first classes in 1957 with a mission to provide affordable, open access to Ohio State for all Ohioans.
The Newark campus sits on 188 acres and shares the campus with Central Ohio Technical College.
The two institutions have a strong partnership whereby they share all buildings and general-purpose classrooms, approximately 100 staff, operating expenses, and a number of capital equipment investments.
Shared departments include Advancement; Business and Finance; Facilities, Planning and Operations; Library; Marketing and Public Relations; Purchasing and Auxiliary Services; Student Financial Services; and Student Life.
Ohio State Newark currently enrolls more than 2,200 students who are taught and mentored by 45 tenure-track faculty who are members of their university-level academic department.
Students can complete eight bachelor’s degree programs at the Newark Campus and start any of Ohio State’s 200+ majors.
