Position Summary

Organization: Albuquerque Academy

Location: 6400 Wyoming NE Albuquerque, NM 87109

An Off-Campus Work-Study position - MUST have a Work-Study Award

Job Summary:
The Library Aide will assist Librarians and Library Assistants with the daily tasks of the library.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists Albuquerque Academy community members in person, on the phone and via email with print and electronic resources.
Answers routine reference requests from community members.
Offers simple reader’s advisory for community members.
Informs and assists community members with hands-on interactive activities.
Using the automated library system, circulates materials and processes holds.
Assists with the upkeep of the library including shelving of materials, inventory, weeding, tidiness, and general cleanliness.
Implements library opening and closing procedures as needed.
Accepts and adheres to Albuquerque Academy policies and procedures and community norms, as well as Simms Library’s strategic plan, policies, and procedures.
Performs related duties as required or directed.

Incumbents may be requested to perform functions relevant to the position but not listed above

Preferred Qualifications

Number of Hours per week: 15, more as class schedule allows
Regular scheduled hours: M-TH 3-6pm Fri: 3-5pm
May be asked to cover other hours in cases of staff absences
