Job description

We’re seeking a proactive Trading Desk Support Analyst to help maintain the stability and performance of a fast-paced low-touch electronic trading environment.

This role supports real-time equities and options order flow and ensures system uptime, rapid issue resolution, and adherence to compliance standards.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days onsite per week in Manhattan or Winter Park, Florida. 

 

Responsibilities


  • Monitor live order activity across various markets, ensuring orders are routed and executed without manual intervention.

  • Act swiftly to address disruptions in trade flow.

  • Investigate and manage interruptions from market halts, system errors, or unexpected trading behavior.

  • Set up and maintain FIX connections, oversee onboarding workflows, and confirm drop copy accuracy.

  • Interface with third-party vendors to escalate production concerns and test platform behavior after releases.

  • Partner with development teams to align infrastructure support with application performance needs.

  • Conduct pre- and post-market health checks to validate system readiness and uptime.

  • Log and report any irregularities in trading behavior, including delays, rejections, or compliance risks.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain controls related to electronic trading access and pre-trade checks.


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years supporting electronic trading operations within a broker-dealer, proprietary firm, or institutional environment.

  • In-depth understanding of automated trading workflows and equity/option market mechanics.

  • Strong working knowledge of FIX protocol, including session handling, drop copy, and order transmission.

  • Experience with order management or execution platforms, smart order routing, and algorithmic systems.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve time-sensitive issues in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.

  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail in a multitasking setting.


Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with routing logic, internal crossing systems, or advanced execution strategies.

  • Prior support experience across U.S. equities and options, including dark pools and national exchanges.

  • Exposure to monitoring tools and dashboards such as Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.

  • Understanding of electronic trading regulatory standards like SEC Rule 15c3-5 and CAT reporting.

  • Knowledge of risk control mechanisms (e.g., kill switches, throttling); exposure to FIextrade ColorPalette is a plus.
