Dewberry is currently seeking a motivated Traffic Project Manager or Traffic Project Engineer in our Baltimore, MD (Owing Mills, MD) office.

This position is an excellent career advancement opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual and includes flexible work hours and the ability for part-time telework.

This position offers tremendous potential to learn and build project management skills in a highly collaborative environment, while working on broad range of project types for local and national transportation clients.

Projects will range from local community focused safety and multimodal projects to large freeway improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and manage traffic engineering design and studies related to work zone traffic control, signing and pavement markings, traffic signals, lighting, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and traffic operational analyses.

  • Design and management for various traffic related tasks
  • Delegation of work to other traffic engineering staff
  • Lead and mentor a group of Junior Traffic Engineers
  • Collaboration with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit.

  • Prepare design and cost estimates,
  • Meet with clients
  • Assist in proposal development
  • Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • PE license required, PTOE preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic engineering
  • VDOT, MDOT and/or design-build experience preferred
  • MicroStation experience required
  • Project Management and leadership skills preferred
  • Proficiency with analysis software (Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA) desirable
  • Working knowledge of VDOT and/or MDOT standards preferred
  • Ability to monitor schedules and budgets
  • Ability to lead and mentor a group of junior traffic engineers.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • The salary range for this position is $112,450 - $144,788
