Transition Alliance Program Job Coach PRINCIPAL DUTIES
+ Maintain case notes and documentation of services provided in the IRSS system within the IVRS network.
+ Assists and monitors student/job candidates to ensure employment outcome goals, as outlined in their IVRS Individual Plans for Employment are being met.
If Job Candidate goals are not being achieved, follow up with the TAP transition team to modify the plan.
+ Communicate with community partners to get feedback and solve any problems that may have arisen to ensure the Student/Job Candidate is successful in the position.
+ Occasionally transport student/job candidates to job shadows, job sites, and provide on-site job training.
+ Provide city bus training.
+ Transport students to Community Service visits as a part of their transition plan.
+ Keep accurate documentation on Student/Job Candidate paid work performance.
+ Initiate feedback from business partners/supervisors.
+ Communicate regularly with TAP Transition team, IVRS staff, parents, Job Site supervisors and other stakeholders supporting student/job candidates.
+ Assist Student/Job Candidates in requesting accommodations needed to perform the duties of their job.
+ Develops individualized task analysis and special training strategies based on Student/Job Candidates’ capabilities and job training needs.
+ Identify and communicate site safety procedures with the employer, student, and other staff as needed.
+ Promote a positive image of individuals with disabilities to employers, coworkers and the community.
+ Support Student/Job Candidates with resume writing, mock job interviews, assist with creating resumes, job searching and applications.
Also assist individuals prepare for job interviews, and potentially attend job interviews with candidates,filling out job applications, following up with employers, onboarding, and other work readiness skills support needed by student/Job Candidate.
+ Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and summer hours as required by student/Job candidate’s employment.

+ Attend district designated professional development as directed.
PREPARATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
+ Associate’s degree, and/or equivalent work experience with working with people with disabilities, or a degree related to Human Services, Social Work or Education
+ Experience with Google software preferred.
+ Must have a valid Iowa Driver’s License.
+ A driving record satisfactory to the District and the District's insurance carrier.
+ Enjoy working with students with disabilities.
+ Ability to take direction from professional staff and work independently and with frequent interruptions.
+ Willingness to assume responsibility and take initiative both at businesses and within the schools.
+ Good oral and written communication skills.
+ Capable of effectively training and supervising students/adults ranging in age from 14-25 in off-campus job sites.

The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp items.
The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 to 12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet, such as curriculum materials, desks, chairs, and boxes.
The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.

The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. workday.
The employee will frequently work in different areas of the classroom including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing, in movement while supervising indoor and outdoor activities, etc.
The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures but will work outdoors when supervising students outside of the classroom.
