Transmission System Operations Engineering Coordinator Job Opening In Corpus Christi – Now Hiring American Electric Power

**Job Summary**



Assist and coordinate with Transmission Field Services (TFS) management and field personnel with the interpretation and development of safe work methods and procedures, the implementation of best practices, the development of improved work methods, improved work management systems, the utilization of technology, the development of streamlined documentation and reporting, the development of IT systems that will assist TFS, the identification of appropriate refresher training and new equipment training; and, assist with the facilitation of inter-region and inter-company information sharing meetings.

The successful candidate for the TFS Coordinator position will work with TFS Station, Protection & Control and Transmission Line personnel on FAC-008.

After training, they will be expected to assist with FAC-008 asset verification efforts.

The TFS Coordinator will work with TFS and Engineering on FAC-008 processes and the associated process documentation.

The TFS Coordinator will be responsible for development and analysis of FAC-008 controls and metrics.

The TFS Coordinator will work directly with TFS personnel when a possible FAC-008 issue is discovered.

The TFS Coordinator will also be involved with the review of TFS non-specific or emerging work for impact to FAC-008.

The TFS Coordinator will ensure that Field Marked Prints are submitted and that changes are reviewed and incorporated in production prints that will be utilized in the next project.

The successful candidate will be performing a variety of tasks associated with FAC-008.


**Job Description**

***The successful candidate must reside within the AEP service territory and be within driving distance of a transmission main office or service center.**


**What you’ll do:**


+ Develop knowledge to become a subject matter expert on Station, P&C, or Transmission Line issues associated with asset data and attestation verification.
+ Responsible for supporting the configuration management program.
+ Monitor and follow up on asset database changes to support facility ratings
+ Coordinate asset attestation work plan development and administration.
+ Work with asset database personnel to develop reports and Power BI visualizations
+ Participate in and facilitate inter-region and inter-company meetings to share ideas and develop uniform policies and procedures.
+ Develop and deliver refresher training for data entry.
+ Continuously work to improve and streamline data collection systems.
+ Develop, review, and present technical reports representing analysis of process adherence.
+ Develop methodology for measurable goals and objectives based upon asset attestation requirements.

_Education:_


+ Associate degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field and 1 year of utility field experience.
+ Or high school diploma or GED and 3 years of related utility field experience.




_Experience:_


+ Utility field experience would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C or Technical Support experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience.


**Transmission Field Services Coordinator SG7**


_Education:_


+ Associate degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field and 3 years of utility field experience.
+ Or high school diploma or GED and 5 years of related utility field experience which would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C or Technical Support experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience.


_Experience:_


+ Utility field experience would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C or Technical Support experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience.


**Qualification requirements for an internal candidate only:


Those candidates holding position titles within the Trans Field Svcs Coord job family: to be eligible a candidate must:


+ Have an Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field and 1 year of utility field experience (or equivalent education and work experience combination).
+ Minimum of 2 years of satisfactory work experience as a Trans Field Svcs Coord Assoc and successfully demonstrated the knowledge and skills required of Trans Field Svcs Coord to be considered for a promotion.


For those candidates holding position titles that are not within the Trans Field Svcs Coord job family: To be eligible a candidate must:


+ Meet the education requirement for external candidates and demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills required of Trans Field Svcs Coord to be qualified for entry at this level/
+ In addition to meeting the requirements below, if the position is within TFS Line or TFS Station Functional Groups.




**Note: Groups outside of the TFS Line or Station functions may have different competencies.




**Transmission Field Services Coordinator Senior SG8**


_Education:_


+ Associate degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, ConstructionManagement or related technical field and 6 years of utility field experience
+ Or high school diploma or GED and 10 years of related utility field experience which would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C or Technical Support experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience.

+ Utility field experience would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C or Technical Support experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience.


**Qualification requirements for an internal candidate only:

+ Associates degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field and 3 years of utility field experience (or equivalent education and work experience combination).

+ Meet the education requirement for external candidates and must demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills required of Trans Field Svcs Coord Sr to be qualified for entry at this level in addition to meeting the requirements below, if the position is within TFS Line or TFS Station Functional Groups.
