Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a temporary _Transport Operator I or II_ to join our Operations Support team.

**What** **does a Transport Operator I or II** **do** **for** **us** **?**
They are responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and transportation of company materials and equipment.
They comply with all company policies, procedures, and all governmental regulations regarding interstate transportation and the transportation of hazardous materials.
They work in a team environment with material handlers, material coordinators, material analysts, fleet service coordinators, and other work teams to ensure materials and equipment reach desired destinations as planned.

**A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**
**Knowledge of:**
+ The handling and transport of hazardous materials, including documentation and placarding requirements
+ Transport regulations regarding equipment configuration, length, height, and weight
+ Hazards and safety precautions of general construction principles
+ ANSI, OHSA, and DOT rules and regulations
**Preferred:**
+ Asset Suite labor entry and inventory modules
+ Familiarity with Idaho Power facilities and personnel within the materials distribution network
**Skills in:**
+ Operating tractor-trailer transport equipment
+ Loading and unloading equipment for transportation
+ Use of computers including Microsoft products, mapping programs, and time-entry software
+ Interpersonal communication, including verbal and written
**Ability to:**
+ Perform duties under limited supervision
+ Work as part of a team and establish effective working relationships
+ Use good judgment and take initiative in resolving work problems
+ Maintain neat, accurate, and legible records
+ Follow oral and written instructions
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
**Transport Operator I**
**Education:**
+ High school diploma or GED
**Experience:**
+ 2 years of experience in operation and maintenance of transport equipment
**Preferred:**
+ Experience pulling a flatbed, doubles, and triples
**Licenses & Certifications:**
+ Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
+ Valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card or the ability to obtain one prior to hire
+ Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
+ In addition, must obtain, tanker, and double-triple and HAZMAT endorsements within 120 of hire
+ Must complete articulated crane certification upon hire during annual offering
**Transport Operator II**
**Education:**
+ High school diploma or GED
**Experience:**
+ 4 years of experience in operation and maintenance of transport equipment and pulling a flatbed, doubles, and triples
**Licenses & Certifications:**
+ Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
+ Valid DOT medical card or the ability to obtain one prior to hire
+ Valid Class A CDL
+ In addition, must possess double-triple endorsement
+ Must obtain tanker and HAZMAT endorsement within 120 days of hire
+ Must obtain First Aid/CPR card within 90 days of hire
+ Must complete counterbalance forklift and rough terrain forklift certifications within 90 days of hire
+ Must complete articulated crane certification upon hire during annual offering
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
Job requires the person to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, crawl, climb into and out of trucks, twist, kneel, balance and reach.
Frequently lift shoulder height and above while putting upside boards weighing up to 20 lbs., and while strapping loads.
Frequently lift waist high and knee high, items weighing up to 60 lbs.
Requires rarely using exertional force to open vehicle hoods weighing up to 120 lbs.; pushing/pulling while tying down loads and getting into and out of vehicles.
Occasionally carry with one hand or two, items weighing up to 60 lbs.
Must be able to operate vehicle foot and hand controls while driving and operating various equipment.
Also requires the ability to grasp and to use fine finger manipulation.
Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat of harm to self, others, or property.

Must live or relocate within established boundaries of assigned location; Occasional overnight travel; Responds to emergency callout outside of normal working hours.

In order for your current position to be held for your return, qualified employees must have supervisory approval to participate and have been in their current position for at least six months.
