We are seeking a motivated Transportation Project Engineer to join our growing team.

Under the direction of a Project Manager, this professional will play a key role in supporting and leading various traffic and highway engineering projects.

From urban roadway design to signal systems and traffic analysis, this role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of impactful projects that improve community mobility and safety.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead design efforts for traffic and highway projects, particularly in urban or space-constrained environments

  • Conduct field investigations and data collection to support project development

  • Prepare construction plans, design reports, and permitting documentation

  • Assist in traffic analysis, signal design, and roadway alignment studies

  • Mentor and guide junior staff in developing technical skills and design capabilities

  • Ensure work is completed on time and within established budgets

  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project success


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Typically requires at least 5 years of experience in highway and roadway design

  • Experience working with state or local Departments of Transportation (DOTs)

  • EIT or PE certification preferred

  • Intermediate skills in AutoCAD, Civil3D, Synchro, Vissim and/or Microstation

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills including the ability to present technical content to non-technical audiences
