Work hours: Full time - Days, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Here's What You Need
+ Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required
+ Master's Degree Preferred
+ Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
+ BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
+ ATCN or TNCC - within 60 days required
+ ENPC - within 60 days required
+ PALS - within 90 days of hire required
+ ACLS - within 90 days of hire required
+ TOPIC - within 90 days of hire required
+ Other Trauma Coordinators Core Course within 90 days of hire required
+ Other AAAM Injury Scaling Course within 90 days of hire required
+ CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
+ 5-years Trauma related experience which includes at least 3 years direct clinical care required
+ 3 years Progressive leadership experience preferred
+ Prior trauma program administration experience preferred
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will
+ demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
+ maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude
+ possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
+ have basic computer skills using medical management application systems
What You Will Do
Quality/Performance Improvement:
* Create a culture of continuous improvement and accountability ensuring the integration of quality and performance improvement into operations.
* Supervise the collection, coding and scoring of trauma data.
Develop processes for validation of the data.
* Utilize the trauma registry to facilitate research, performance improvement activities and trend reports.
* Analyze data, identify trends/areas for improvement in processes, structures, and systems impacting trauma care patient outcomes; develop a plan to close gaps and sustain gains as appropriate.
* Manage the approved budget through frequent and regular monitoring.
Implement written action plans to address variances adjusting strategies as needed to meet budgetary expectations.
* Consistently practice strategic human resources management.
Motivate others to achieve excellence in patient care, quality, safety, service and stewardship.
