As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment within a government-related location.

Your primary responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols of assigned areas, staying visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and engaging with the public to provide exceptional customer service.

This position requires you to be comfortable riding a bike as part of your patrol duties and to meet Allied Universal's driver policy requirements, as this is a driving post.

You will utilize technology, such as computers or tablets, to document activities and communicate with your team.

Pay Rate: $17.06 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon07:00 AM - 03:00 PMSun06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, responding as needed to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned location, including building interiors, exteriors, and perimeters.
  • Observe for and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns within the location, helping to deter unwanted behavior.
  • Communicate promptly with Allied Universal management and/or local authorities as appropriate regarding incidents or emergencies.
  • Document observations, incidents, and activities in accordance with site and Allied Universal requirements.
  • Support site access control measures, verifying identification and/or credentials as required by site policy.
  • Assist visitors, staff, and students with general inquiries while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.

  • Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to ride a bike.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
