UNIV - Program Coordinator - Department of Orthopaedics Job Opening In Charleston – Now Hiring Medical University of South Carolina

Job purpose: The department of Orthopaedic and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is recruiting for a Program Coordinator to assist with our fellowship programs, Athletic Training (AT) Residency Program, assist our current residency coordinators and provide administrative and surgical support to faculty and senior staff.


Job Duties:
The Program Coordinator will serve as a liaison for the fellows and ATC residents with the program coordinators and departmental leadership.

The Program Coordinator will assist with scheduling meetings, calendar management, and other administrative services.

This individual will serve as a contact person for the fellowship and AT residency programs; 20%


Collaborate with the program coordinators and faculty to schedule interviews with applicants.

Coordinate observation/shadowing opportunities for students (high school, undergraduate, and PT).

Support residency coordinators during onboarding, orientation, and graduation activities for medical students, ATs, residents, and fellows.

Assist the AT Residency Program Director with documentation and data collection required for program accreditation and ongoing compliance with CAATE; 10%


Assist the coordinators with organizing and managing rotation schedules; manage monthly call schedule changes for residents; maintain call schedule and changes in the Simon call system; 20%


Coordinate with the department’s fiscal analyst to process reimbursements related to travel, memberships, and registration for conferences or specialty meetings for fellows and AT residents.

The Program Coordinator will collaborate with the patient access liaison to create the fellows clinical scheduling templates; prepare and assist Fellows or ATC residents with onboarding, clinic cancellation, and leave requests.

This includes holding clinics and rescheduling patients when a cancellation is submitted less than 30 days; 10%


Support department special functions, including Holiday events, Graduation events, interview weekends, alumni events and assist when needed with special meetings 10%

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and one year relevant program experience.

(Infrequent) Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
