The Walmart/VIZIO Team operates at the intersection of data and technology, dedicated to delivering robust data solutions that enhance business operations and customer experiences.

This role is pivotal in aligning our data strategy with business objectives, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our data platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentora team of data engineers.
  • Architect and maintainscalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and platforms.
  • Collaboratewith analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver data solutions.
  • Drive best practicesin data modeling, quality, governance, and observability.
  • Oversee implementationof batch and real-time data processing frameworks.
  • Optimize cloud-baseddata infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Set technical directionand contribute to hands-on development as needed.
  • What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in data architecture, ETL/ELT, and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or Scala.
  • Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt) and cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and security best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with streaming data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming).
  • Prior experience in a high-scale, data-rich environment.
  • Knowledge of ML pipelines and MLOps workflows.

    Minimum Qualifications...

    Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

    Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
    2 years’ supervisory experience.

    Preferred Qualifications...

    Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area., We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
