Job description
Overview We are looking for an experienced and creative user interface (UI) design director to join our team.
The user interface lead will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and owning digital design systems, templates, and tactics to produce best-in-class interactions and experiences.
They will create and present prototypes for user testing, colleagues, and client review.
The ideal candidate will understand the differences between UI, UX, and Art Direction and have an organized, creative approach to problem-solving.
The user interface lead will collaborate with UX, strategy, technology, and creative leadership in a client-facing, high-visibility role.
Base pay range $65.00/hr - $75.00/hr
Role title : User Interface Designer — Freelance
Rate : $65 to $75 per hour
Responsibilities Create and revise tactical designs, prototypes, dev ready, accessible, responsive digital layouts
Evaluate briefs, estimates, timelines, and deliverables
Define atoms, molecules, components, templates, visual elements, product elements, and overall design
Educate and ensure alignment with WCAG 2.1
Define and align to best practices and standards of usability
Work with the UX team to define user flows, content maps, sitemaps, components, and to create and implement interaction models and user interface specifications
Implement feedback from user research and testing
Collaborate on scenarios, end-to-end experiences, and screen designs
Work with engineering, front-end, and backend developers as needed
Collaborate with the creative team to ensure brand and campaign assets follow best practices in a digital environment
Prepare development-ready files for handoff
Advocate for visually appealing design that is also functional from a user perspective
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Architecture, or related field; Master's degree preferred
Proven experience with UI design, with a portfolio of sample projects
3-5 years' prior experience in UI, engineering, UX, programming, or related position
Knowledge of Agile and Scrum processes
Expertise with multiple visual design programs, including Sketch, Figma, XD
Expertise with wireframing tools, storyboards, user flows, and site mapping
Mastery of User interface design principles; a deep understanding of the latest design and technology trends, and their role in a commercial environment
Artistic eye for design, user interaction, functionality, and readability
Able to think creatively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work independently and as an active member of a team
Able to present ideas to clients with varying levels of design expertise
Bonus Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical advertising
