We're seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our teams across the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in many of our specialty service areas, including ICU, Anesthesia, Neurology, Cardiology and more!

+ Veterinary Technician I - Small Animal ICU (Full-time)
+ Veterinary Technician I - Small Animal ER (Full-time)
+ Veterinary Technician I/II - Small Animal Anesthesia (Full-time)
+ Veterinary Technician II - Small Animal Primary Care (Full-time)
+ Veterinary Technician III - Small Animal Anesthesia Board Runner (Full-time)
In this role, you'll assist the professional staff in the treatment of animal patients admitted to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and the training of veterinary students.

Minimum Required Qualifications
+ Veterinary Technician Assistant: High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience AND two years of related experience.
+ Veterinary Technician I: Associate degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science, a related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Veterinary Technician II: Associate degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science, a related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience AND two years of technical experience in veterinary medicine.
+ Veterinary Technician III: Associate degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science, a related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience AND four years of technical experience in veterinary medicine.
+ Veterinary Technician IV: Associate degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science, a related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience AND six years of technical experience in veterinary medicine.
*Requirements may vary slightly based on specialty service area.
What you need to know
Location: All positions will be located either at the Small Animal Hospital or Large Animal Hospital, located in College Station, Texas.
Positions with on-call or emergency coverage will be expected to maintain 30-minute call time.
Schedule: Various shifts available, including day, night, weekend, and flex/rotating.
Positions may require flexibility to work alternate shifts, holidays, weekends, and/or 'on-call duty'.
Please Note: Persons in this position are considered essential when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc.
Salary: Compensation and classification are based on the needs of the department and the analyses of the above qualifications during the recruitment process.
Compensation may vary based on specialty service.
+ Veterinary Technician Assistant: starting at $16.35/hour
+ Veterinary Technician I: starting at $19.11/hour
+ Veterinary Technician II: starting at $20.04/hour
+ Veterinary Technician III: starting at $21.33/hour
+ Veterinary Technician IV: starting at $53,239.68 annually

Some of the Responsibilities Include:
+ Patient Care and Clinical Support: Assist in the care, treatment, and monitoring of animal patients.
Administer medications, fluids, and emergency/life-sustaining care as directed.
Collect and document patient medical histories and clinical observations.
Support diagnostic evaluations and pain assessments.
+ Technical and Diagnostic Procedures: Perform or assist with laboratory tests and sample collection (blood, urine, tissue).
Operate and maintain medical and monitoring equipment.
Support anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery processes.
Ensure accurate documentation of procedures and treatments.
+ Instruction and Mentorship: Instruct and guide veterinary students, interns, and residents in clinical techniques.
Provide mentorship to junior staff and assist in training efforts.
Support clinical teaching and research activities, including data collection and recordkeeping.
+ Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and clinical areas.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of medical equipment.
Ensure compliance with sanitation and infection control protocols.
+ Inventory and Supply Management: Monitor and replenish medical supplies, drugs, and equipment.
Maintain inventory control and ensure proper storage and labeling.
Coordinate with pharmacy and central supply for restocking.
+ Administrative and Compliance Duties: Maintain accurate and complete medical records and billing entries.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in accreditation, inspection, and compliance activities.
