Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Virtualization Systems Administrator to support a complex, multi-site IT infrastructure based in Tukwila, Washington.
This role is centered around Red Hat Linux-based High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters and includes support for secure lab environments, classified networks, and future integration of embedded Linux systems like VxWorks.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement secure system architectures using best practices in software and systems engineeringProvide end-to-end IT support across desktops, servers, and virtualized environmentsManage system access, patching, and hardware/software release planningAdminister and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows systemsTroubleshoot complex system issues and automate tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell)Support classified networks and ensure compliance with RMF/JSIG security standardsIntegrate and maintain applications and infrastructure in secure environmentsBasic Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI with a CI Polygraph (CI Poly within the last 5 years)5+ years of experience supporting lab/test environments and classified networksStrong background in Linux and Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshootingHands-on experience with IT hardware, networking equipment, and HPC systemsThe ability to stand up virtual Linux environmentsSecurity+ certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)Preferred Qualifications:
Deep experience with RHEL, Windows Server/Desktop, VMware, and Active DirectoryExperience with Embedded LinuxFamiliarity with Group Policy Objects (GPOs), PowerShell scripting, and Agile methodologiesExperience with system backups, patching, and COTS softwareKnowledge of RMF/JSIG compliance and secure system integrationCompensation:
