Role Description

Adaptive is looking for a Visual Designer to join our design team.

You’ll sit at the intersection of our product design and content teams.

You’ll help bring complex cybersecurity concepts to life in moments of delight in the product as well as the training content delivered to employees.

This role calls for strong visual and interactive storytelling skills.

You’ll design a variety of creative assets, including in-app imagery, iconography, training modules, posters, and newsletters.

It’s an excellent opportunity for a designer interested in the intersection of education, digital design, and UX.

You’ll not only collaborate closely with product designers to elevate our in app experience, but also work closely with our content team to creating compelling training narratives and product managers and engineers who are building the training interface.

This role will start as a contractor role, with potential to transition into a full-time opportunity based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the product design team to identify opportunities for brand expression and purposeful imagery that bring delight while improving contextual clarity for users.

  • Create engaging visuals, including illustrations, icons, gifs, animations that are used in in the product, training modules, posters, newsletter, and other marketing materials.

  • Design training experiences end to end by translating written scripts by our content team to modern design with engaging visuals that supplement the narrative.

  • Think holistically about content structure to ensure consistency, clarity, and scalability across training materials.

  • Partner with the content team to streamline our process for new content creation, from initial ideas through to release.

  • Elevate and scale great training content design by working closely with the content team, auditing their designs, and creating repeatable design patterns that can be easily executed by non-technical content specialists.

  • Work with our video team to create assets for video content and animations.

  • Leverage AI creatively and experiment with new visual effects and train models to enhance your workflow and scale the creation of on-brand imagery.

  • Be a champion of the Adaptive’s design system and content style guidelines across all content to ensure a consistent quality and look and feel.

  • Contribute to accessibility by creating visuals that support diverse learners through clarity, readability, and inclusivity.

Qualifications

  • Early-to-mid career designer (2–5 years) with a portfolio showing strong fundamentals in digital design.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar design tools and eager to grow skills in brand guidelines, scalable content libraries,

  • Detail-obsessed: you sweat type, spacing, and visual clarity.

  • Collaborative: you enjoy feedback, iteration, and working across functions.

  • Adaptive: comfortable creating everything from detailed iconography, to illustrations, to full modules of security training content.

  • Bonus: experience with motion design tools (After Effects, Lottie, Rive) or in e-learning/educational design.
