**Job Description:**
Responsible for the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of enterprise voice and data networks to support operational and business objectives.

This role encompasses hands-on engineering for voice, data, and industrial systems integration.

It ensures network reliability, scalability, and security while aligning with the organization’s strategic architecture.

This role focuses on deploying and maintaining voice and data solutions using advanced technologies such as VoIP, LAN/WAN, IP/MPLS, DWDM, and SCADA systems, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory standards like NERC CIP.
**Note** : There is one position available, and the position will be filled at one of four job grade levels: Voice and Data Network Engineer I, job grade 7; Voice and Data Network Engineer II, job grade 8, Voice and Data Network Engineer III, job grade 9; or Senior Voice and Data Network Engineer, job grade 10.

This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected, and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

**Senior Voice and Data Network Engineer**
Hiring Salary Range: $106,000-$135,000
**Voice and Data Network Engineer III**
Hiring Salary Range: $96,000-$121,000
**Voice and Data Network Engineer II**
Hiring Salary Range: $86,000-$108,000
**Voice and Data Network Engineer I**
Hiring Salary Range: $77,000-$96,000
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Implement and manage enterprise voice and data network solutions, including VoIP, LAN, WAN, and IP/MPLS technologies.
+ Configure, test, and deploy network hardware and software components in alignment with architectural plans.
+ Monitor and troubleshoot network systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
+ Collaborate with the Senior Network Architect to execute strategic network designs and enhancements.
+ Provide technical support and maintenance for operational technologies such as SCADA systems and AMI.
+ Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement security protocols and address vulnerabilities.
+ Identify opportunities for network optimization and implement performance improvements.
+ Participate in the development, test, and maintenance of disaster recovery and redundancy plans to ensure network resilience.
+ Support incident response efforts for network outages and security events.
+ Maintain accurate records of network configurations, incidents, and performance metrics.
+ Generate reports on network status, project progress, and compliance for management review.
+ Assist with cross-functional projects, providing voice and data expertise.
+ Respond to emergency issues as part of the on-call rotation, ensuring continuous service availability.
+ Maintain inventory of network assets and related technical specifications.
+ Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of regulations, laws, standards, and best practices applicable to functional area.
+ Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.
**OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Qualifications:**
Education and Training:
+ Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
+ Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent preferred.
Skills:
+ Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to lead in a dynamic, mission-critical environment.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technology solutions in business terms across technical and non-technical teams; an effective listener and communicator.
+ Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
+ Keen attention to detail.
Knowledge and Experience:
+ Eight (8) years’ experience implementing and managing voice and data networks.
+ Extensive experience in designing and managing enterprise and industrial-level network architectures.
+ Deep knowledge of network protocols, infrastructure, and security practices, including MPLS, SD-WAN, and cloud integrations.
+ Familiarity with utility-specific technologies and standards, such as SCADA systems and NERC CIP compliance.
Other:
+ Willingness to travel as required for project work and meetings throughout service territory by posing a current valid driver's license.

Must be able to physically deploy routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and other networking devices.

**Note** : The above requirements describe the experience and education qualifications for the Senior Voice and Data Engineer.

Those with less experience will be hired at the I, II or III job grade level.
