Rehmann is assisting our client, Safety Services in the search for a Warehouse Team Lead

We are looking for a qualified Warehouse Team Lead to help take our organization to the next level.

What You’ll Do (your impact, every day)


Lead the Shift



  • Run pre-shift huddles with clear goals, safety topics, and cutoffs; assign labor by wave and skill.


  • Open/close the DC as needed (alarm, doors, equipment checks, end-of-day walk-through).

  • Print, sort, and prioritize workflow; ensure pick waves are complete by carrier cutoff; stage will-call.


Order Fulfillment & Shipping



  • Assist in pulling orders and processing parcels/LTL with accurate labels and paperwork.

  • Route truck runs, assist with palletizing and load plans; verify securement before departure.

  • Support showroom/walk-in counter sales: take orders, pull, load, and provide a friendly handoff.


Receiving & Put-Away



  • Assist with receiving (including FedEx/UPS), verify counts/condition, and book outbound freight.

  • Support dock-to-stock speed on A-items; maintain clean bin locations, labels, and rotation (FIFO).


Inventory Control



  • Support cycle counts, annual physical inventory; investigate variances.

  • Partner with the operations manager on min/max adjustments and shortage/root-cause reviews.


Safety, Compliance & Training



  • Make safety the first word of every shift: SDS access, HazMat orange stickers, DOT basics, proper load securement.

  • Support the Warehouse Manager objectives to train the team or new hires (online modules on time, hands-on skills: loading, securement, equipment handling).

  • Keep business information confidential and complete all HR/OSHA training on schedule.


Facilities & Equipment



  • Pitch in on warehouse and equipment maintenance; housekeeping/5S; snow removal and salting as needed.

  • Operate pallet jacks, dollies, ladders, scrubbers, vacuums, sweepers, and related tools.

  • Oversee facilities management tasks and building improvement projects.


 


Continuous Improvement



  • Spot inefficiencies and share cost-saving ideas; tighten walk paths, slotting, and cartonization.

  • Use ERP/logistics tools to keep data clean and comms crisp.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.


 


The Fine Print




  • 1–2+ years of warehouse lead/supervisor experience (or strong lead-by-example background).

  • Valid driver’s license; Chauffeur License

  • Clear, professional communication—one-on-one and in huddles; you set tone and pace.

  • Comfortable with ERP, logistics software, email, Microsoft Office; quick tech learner.

  • Solid problem-solving under pressure; you can read SOPs, safety rules, and diagrams and turn them into action.


  • Physical: regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (with assistance to 100+ as needed), push/pull 10–40 lbs, frequent walking/stooping/kneeling/climbing; visual acuity for close/distance/color/peripheral/depth/focus.

  • Any offer of employment is contingent on a standard background check (and an MVR check if you’ll drive a company vehicle).

The Details




  • Schedule: Full-time; includes open/close responsibilities M-F 8 AM – 5 PM.


  • Location: Kalamazoo, MI (distribution center).


  • Team Scope: Day-to-day oversight of VMI and Warehouse Associates in partnership with the Operations Manager.
