Who are we looking for?


Our Southeast Water business is seeking a talented Water Resources Engineer to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering innovative solutions for municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems across the region.

From conducting technical investigations and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling to designing system improvements and managing multidisciplinary projects, you’ll be involved in every phase—from study through design.

You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and clients, lead project meetings, and contribute to the development of water collection, conveyance, and distribution layouts.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in

  • Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
  • Engineering Standards Specification: Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
  • Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats.

    Involves working independently.
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Monitor Construction Works: Monitor and oversee the delivery of works to ensure that construction, maintenance, or improvement works are delivered in accordance with quality, cost, and time requirements.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

    Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest technical developments to better meet client's needs.
  • Product and Solution Development: Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
  • Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • What you will bring to the team: 

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification with intent to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) License in GA, SC, or NC; already having your PE is a plus
  • 5-10 years of relevant water engineering experience, including underground linear utilities such as water, wastewater, and stormwater
  • Experience with hydraulic computations and/or hydrologic modeling (.

    HydroCAD, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, ICPR,
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team and independently
  • Willingness to observe construction activities and complete field investigations
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings
