Job Description Job Description Water Resources Engineer About: We are a prime multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm that has been serving our clients in the public and private sectors in DC-MD-VA for over 30 years.
We are experience tremendous growth with about 40 prime on-call contracts with various public sector clients.
As such we are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our team! In return, they offer: $100k - $140k base salary (DOE) Hybrid Remote Medical, Dental, Vision insurance 401k with up to 4% match Tuition reimbursement Excellent career growth opportunity to build out team Who you are: Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related field 5 years of water resource design experience PE or ability to apply for reciprocity MD SHA and local MD jurisdictions are preferred SWM design that includes BMPS, storm drains, grading, and stream restoration Utilize hydraulic and hydrologic modeling programs and techniques including TR-20, TR-55, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, ABSCOUR, HEC-18 and HY-8.
Ability to work GIS programs, Microstation, Auto CAD, and other engineering software programs Working knowledge of Hydrology/Hydraulic Modeling Software Ability to travel to project sites What you will be doing: Coordinate design elements across various engineering disciplines with other project engineers for the development of plans, specifications, and estimates.
Communicate design progress with project managers and utilize entry-level design engineers to complete tasks.
Design procedures or practices for the applicable client, as well as, maintain a firm understanding on the permit process for various permit review agencies.
Lead designer for project development including but not limited to: roadway drainage, open and closed drainage systems, environmental site design, stormwater management (SWM), erosion/sediment control, stream restoration, bridge scour analysis, floodplain studies, hydrology/hydraulics, TMDL, Critical Area, NPDES & MS-4 permits, SWM retrofits and BMPs, Joint-Permit Application (JPA).
