Client has an immediate opportunity for
Windows / Virtualization Systems Engineer with the ability to obtain a
Public Trust clearance located in
Woodlawn, MD.
In this role you will be an active member of the HIGLAS-HOM Windows Virtualization Team performing installations, upgrades, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, securing and repair of Windows servers in a VMware environment.

Client is supporting Hosting, Operations and Maintenance (HOM) services for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) program.
On this program, Client is responsible for providing proactive and predicative Operational management and engineering support of the HIGLAS enterprise environment, including but not limited to:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical knowledge in the areas of system installation, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation and installs system-wide software.
- Perform system updates, implement changes in multiple environments from test or development to production.
- onitor infrastructure, systems operations, and critical application services 24/7; provide information and statistics relevant to system limits on capacity, data storage, system utilization, etc.; respond to critical outages and restore services within agreed upon service levels.
- Experience developing and interpreting detailed installation instructions and supporting documentation to effect system design deployments.
- Experience with Windows Server 2012 R2 and later, Active Directory, SCCM, SCOM, and Group Policy management.
- Support Virtualization technology using VMware vSphere, vCenter, vROps, etc.
- Knowledge in managing enterprise server hardware (HPE, Dell), including firmware upgrades, administer through iLO / iDRAC, network configuration, and SAN.
- Monitoring and administration of Operating system and its components (Disks, mount points, Packages, Users etc.)
- Implement proper system patching to address security vulnerabilities and accurately report security incidents
- As part of a 24/7 on-call rotation, perform the activities associated with the management of dedicated ticket queues to include prioritization of work and assignment to technical resources for resolution of end user concerns while ensuring service levels and objectives are met.
- Contribute proactively with regards to system and process improvements, with a focus on automation.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in a Computer Science or related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in VMWare and Windows Engineering.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.
- Only US Citizenship and Green Card holder can be considered for this position.
